December Gathering

The 14th Ragamuffin Cooking Club is hereby announced!

Since December is such a busy time of year, a few suggested we mix it up a bit and get together on New Year's Eve for a more simple gathering. Our numbers may be fewer this coming month, but whoever can make it, we'll be sure to have enough food!

Theme: New Year's Eve Pizza Party

Date & Time: Sunday, December 31st, 6:30pm

Place: Chad & Karen's (unless someone else would rather host)

I have combined a few items since we expect fewer people to attend... post a comment or let me know if you can't be there as well, so we can figure out how many people to expect! We need signups for the following:
  • Pizza dough - Phil has volunteered to master a recipe for this
  • Lots of shredded cheese and another topping -
  • Pizza sauce & other sauce (like BBQ?)-
  • More toppings -
  • Sodas & wine - chianti is recommended as a great compliment to pizza -
  • Side dish / snack 1 -
  • Side dish / snack 2 (if all other options have been taken) -

Hope to see many of you for the end-of-2006 pizza party! Have a fantastic Christmas and enjoy lots of food!

C is for cookie, it's good enough for me...

There aren't many other words to describe our Cookie Swap other than YUM! I think this was a total hit, from the oohs and ahhs and yummms and wows I heard around the room. Everyone brought more than enough cookies, and I'm sure that more than one of us went home that night with bellyaches from too much sugar!

We sampled:

  • Banket from Rose
  • Candy Cane Cookies from Rachel
  • Chocolate-chip Gingerbread Cookies and spiced apple cider from Michael & Rebekah
  • Chocolate Mint Cookies from Michelle
  • Cranberry Orange Pinwheels from Chad & Karen
  • Eskimo Snowballs from Jonathan & Jill
  • Jan Hagel from Phil
  • Kolacky from Jessica
  • Pecan Lace from Heather
  • White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Cookies from Michael & Toni

I am sure many of these cookies will be baked again during the holidays!

The 14th cooking club gathering will be posted soon - a New Year's Eve Pizza Party!
